Overview

Spot Hawk is a fishing companion app that helps you log catches, track fishing spots, and plan trips based on tide and weather conditions. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used.

Data We Collect

Spot Hawk collects the following data, which is stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

• Location — Used to pin your fishing spots, fetch local tide and weather conditions, and score spots based on current conditions. Location is only accessed when you actively use the app.
• Catch data — Species, size, weight, method, lure, and notes you enter manually.
• Conditions data — Tide stage, wind speed, moon phase, barometric pressure, water and air temperature, and cloud cover, fetched automatically from OpenWeather and NOAA at the time of logging.

Third-Party Services

Spot Hawk connects to the following external services to fetch conditions data:

• OpenWeather API (openweathermap.org) — weather and temperature data
• NOAA CO-OPS API (tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov) — tide predictions

These services receive your GPS coordinates in order to return local data. We do not share your name, catch history, or any other personal information with them. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

Data Storage

All catch logs, fishing spots, and settings are stored locally on your device using SQLite. We do not operate servers, user accounts, or cloud sync. Deleting the app removes all data permanently.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third party. The optional GPX export feature saves a file to your device only — nothing is uploaded automatically.

Children's Privacy

Spot Hawk does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
